Optometrists are able to treat external infections to the front portion of the eye such as conjunctivitis or "pink eye", corneal ulcers, eyelid disease such as a stye, and dry eyes.  We are also trained to treat certain forms of Glaucoma.  Although we are trained to detect internal eye problems such as cataracts, macular degeneration, optic nerve problems, retinal detatchement, and vitreous liquifaction, we are not eye surgeons but will refer you to the appropriate specialist.

Medically related office visits can be billed to your major medical insurance.  If you have Primary Eyecare under your VSP, your office visit will be covered under VSP with a small co-pay.  You can visit VSP Online to check your benefits.
